The conformal nature of this deposition prepares the structure for the subsequent annealing and Pre-CMP Oxide Deposition steps by ensuring the narrowest geometries are securely bridged [P1]. The physical mechanism of this step relies on surface-reaction-controlled chemical vapor deposition, typically utilizing sub-atmospheric CVD (SACVD) with an O3-TEOS gas chemistry [P1].
